Has your garden got PLOT-ential?

In anticipation of the Garden Fest this spring I’ve invented a genius new word, says Toby.

pLotential. adjective.

1 the possibility of something happening or being developed in a garden or outdoor space in the future

2. noun. The inherent or imagined opportunities of a garden, as in ‘Only someone with their face mask over their eyes wouldn’t see the pLotential of this place.’

Whatever you call it, months of lockdown have opened the nation’s eyes to the benefits of our gardens with enthusiasts upgrading their plots into Covid-conscious meeting, eating and greeting places.

Even non-gardeners that once regarded their plots as a chore both have the gardening bug and a new attitude toward their outdoor space.

At Buckland Castle, I’ve boosted our patio’s pLotential with an outdoor wood-burner and a recycled sail awning to create a Covid-safe and cosy all-weather place to sit. Next on the list is better furniture and more edibles plus flowers for the bees?

How have you met your pLotential? Send a picture and we’ll post on the website and what’s on your wish-list?

Only twelve weeks or so till the gates of the Fest are thrown open. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for and be inspired with creative ideas.
