Dogs Welcome at Toby’s Garden & Harvest Festival

Dogs are now welcome at Toby’s new Garden & Harvest Festival at Forde Abbey this September. Thanks to the dog-friendly nature of the site and Forde Abbey owners Alice and Julian Kennard’s love of dogs – they have three of their own – you won’t need to leave your pet pooch at home when you visit the Festival.

Alice Kennard says, “Dogs are very much an important part of our family life at the Abbey and well-behaved dogs on leads are always welcome in the gardens.”

There is plenty for our furry friends to sniff out at the Festival, including Forde’s spacious lawns, woodlands, rock garden and lakes, complete with the UK’s tallest fountain and there is always a bowl of water at the tearoom doors for thirsty dogs. For dog owners, there are two days of celebrity talks from festival host Toby Buckland, Charlie Dimmock, Christine Walkden and a full programme of harvest workshops and demo’s, including grow-your-own veg and seed collecting advice, willow-weaving and making natural dyes and arrangements from your home-grown flowers. More details coming soon here.

Toby’s Garden & Harvest Festival at Forde Abbey opens for two days on 16th and 17th September, 10am-5pm. Online tickets £10 in advance, under 16s free.

Please note: Visitors intending to visit Toby’s Garden Festival at Powderham Castle in April 2018, please note that due to the deep park location, dogs are not allowed.
