Two popular Devon festivals who only last year were competing for the same tourism prize have come together to create beautiful music in 2018! Glas-Denbury Music & Arts Festival are bringing some top tunes to Toby’s Garden Festival at Powderham Castle this spring, while Toby’s Garden Fest are creating a plant-themed pop-up at Glas-Denbury in July.

Artists from Glas-Denbury are playing both days of the popular two-day horticultural extravaganza on 27th and 28th April at Powderham Castle, showcasing the soulful voice of Joanna Cooke, the captivating vocals of Sadie Horler and the ethereal voice and music of the harpist Katherine Grace.

Toby’s team return the favour at Glas-Denbury on 6th and 7th July with botanical workshops and plant theatre for the Garden Stage at the two-day event at Fairfield Farm at Denbury near Newton Abbot.
Garden festival host Toby Buckland says,

“We first met Emma and her team at the Visit Devon awards last November and we all instantly hit it off. I’m delighted they’re joining us at Powderham… so I say, thank you for the music!”

Glas-Denbury host Emma Twamley says, “We are so thrilled to be bringing a little piece of our Glas-Denbury magic to Toby’s Garden Festival. To be able to showcase the wide genres of music at Glas-Denbury this year, in amongst the entertainment, workshops, poetry and bring it to a wider audience is fantastic.”

“Collaborating with and supporting other fantastic events in the South West is incredibly important to us, after all we are all working to the same goal, which is to create opportunities and experiences for people and we want to shout about how fabulous the South West is for events like this!”

Other highlights include a new Sow, Grow & Cook Tipi with talks on home-growing fruit and veg, a Kids’ Camp and celebrity speakers Rachel de Thame, Terry Walton and John Challis aka Boycie from Only Fools & Horses.
