Exciting news for veg growers and foodies! Award-winning author and Devon grower, Mark Diacono, is joining us at the festival in 2023. Mark who has written seven books, will be hosting talks as part of our new Food & Drink Market, a showcase for our fabulous local producers, on both days of the festival – Friday 28th and Saturday 29th April 2023.
Mark says:
I’m lucky enough to spend most of my time eating, growing, writing and talking about food.
I created Otter Farm in order to encourage people to consider growing unusual and forgotten food along with the best of the familiar. Kiwis, sweet cicely, chocolate vines, Japanese wineberries and Vietnamese coriander, pecans, quince, almonds, Szechuan pepper and mulberries are among the many incredible flavours we can grow. The Otter Farm nursery offers the best unusual and familiar plants and seeds, in varieties that I think are most delicious.
I have written seven award winning books, including HERB/a cook’s companion, SOUR, A Year at Otter Farm which won Andre Simon Food Book of the Year, and A Taste of the Unexpected which won the Guild of Food Writers’ Food Book of the Year, and a number of books for River Cottage.”
