Rob Vincent plans to wow visitors to the festival with a spectacular array of his specialist houseplants. Rob is owner of Hutch House Plants who runs Exeter’s only dedicated houseplant store and is a first time exhibitor at Powderham.
He is an all-round houseplant expert who provides and cares for plants at shops, businesses and leisure centres while running workshops and selling a wide variety of exciting and exotic plants. He is also a regular expert on Toby Buckland’s weekly Sunday morning gardening show on BBC Radio Devon.
“If it’s houseplant related we can do it,” Rob says. “Houseplants are going through such a boom at the moment and there’s such a lot of interest. We are looking forward to meeting new and old customers at the festival.
I guess houseplants went out of fashion a bit in the 70’s and 80’s but are back in a big way. Covid played a part in that and that’s where indoor gardening took hold more as people wanted to add something green to their homes.
We’ll be on hand to show off our plants but also help with the problems many people still have with their houseplants.”
Meet Rob, get advice and see Hutch House Plants’ stand in the Garden Village at Toby’s Garden Festival on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April at Powderham Castle, Kenton, near Exeter.
