Products from The Country Child’s Company will wow visitors to the festival. This new exhibitor to the Powderham event is a small Dartmoor based company making gifts to be enjoyed by children and all have a touch of nostalgia and a story about them.
Each item is individually hand printed, assembled and coloured.
Owner Lillias Guyon’s mother drew dogs on parchment candle shades with ink. As the animals shine through and look out, her personality and love shone through.
Says Lillias: “When our son was born, I searched for lampshades for his bedroom, and couldn’t find any on the market which were alive for children, with engagingly drawn images. I recalled my mother’s approach and so the idea came to me to create my own.
“Your memories will be in these shades as well.
“Because we are a small company, and our designs are painted and assembled by hand, we are able to offer a bespoke service. You may wish to specify a particular fabric or colour to match the decor of your child’s room, have specific requirements for electrical fittings or wish to select character combinations or colouring”.
