Tim Wills, chairman of Devon Rural Skills Trust popped in to Toby’s BBC Radio Show to spread the word about their vital work.
The DRST is the go-to organisation for keeping rural crafts, from basket making, orchard pruning, hedge laying, drystone walling and much more alive. And we’re delighted that they will be back at the Fest to share tricks of the trade and offer taster, have-a-go sessions to visitors.
So many of the cherished features we love in the West Country landscape are made and are maintained by generations of craftsmen and women and the DRST ensures their skills are passed down through generations. In a Fest first, you can learn about their crafts in a new dedicated demo theatre with scheduled talks running across both days.
Tickets for the 1st and 2nd may on sale soon!
In the meantime you can hear Tim on Toby’s show via BBC Sounds by copying this link in the browser
