Julian and Alice Kennard, current owners of Forde Abbey, the former Cistercian monastery have said how excited they are about the new Toby’s Garden and Harvest Festival which will take place at the popular venue on the Somerset and Dorset border next September.
The new two day weekend event in the gardening shows calendar is being held in the grounds of the Abbey on Saturday and Sunday, September 16th and 17th.
Said Alice: “I’m very much looking forward to welcoming Toby and his team to Forde Abbey next September for an autumn plant and harvest festival that celebrates the very best of what’s in season.”
The Abbey is surrounded by 30 acres of spectacular award-winning gardens popular with gardening enthusiasts from a wide area so the location perfectly suits a n autumn festival which celebrates all things gardening and the best of the season.
The Abbey grounds already stage a wide range of gardening themed events during the season including its famous sweet pea fortnight in July through to autumn pumpkin and flower festival days so a high profile seasonal festival has proved appealing to the current owners.
What a lovely event. Lovely to get such a kind welcome from Toby. Looking forward to the next event at Powderham
