Who doesn’t love fresh cut flowers?

High quality fresh and dried flowers possess a timeless charm with vibrant colours, natural fragrance and delicate textures. If you are a gardener who has a passion and love for cut flowers, both fresh and dried, then the garden festival at Powderham will be the place for you.

One of the best known and loved organic flower farms in the west country will be displaying flowers in all their glory over the two days. Wards Farm Flowers are grown on three acres near Exeter boasting 60 varieties of fresh and dried cut flowers. They will be exhibiting their wonderful flowers for the first time at the festival, and we are very excited to have them with us.

They grow a varied display of British flowers and foliage from March through to December and there is a great tradition in the organic business going back generations. Owner Naomi Persey plans a special exhibition piece to display – a large dragon made and decorated from natural materials and dried flowers. Naomi adds:”
With my love of flowers and the knowledge from my mother who was a florist, we came upon the idea of working the farm to produce eco-friendly flowers. Nothing was to be added to the soil, no sprays, no fertilizer, nothing but sun and quality manure to grow our blooms. Turning the ground, sowing, and watering of the plants, we have transformed the farm into a floral carpet in the Devon hills”
