Stoke Gabriel Pocket Meadow Project with Toby Buckland

On a beautiful autumn evening, Toby joined the gardeners of Stoke Gabriel for the inaugural meeting of their Pocket Meadow Project. The seed was sown by Toby’s Garden Fest 2024, where the project was originally launched by Toby and Paul Jupp of Meadow in My Garden. The idea is to share seeds that will bloom  into wildlife friendly flowers, not just in large meadows, but in corner plots, window boxes and small borders – whatever space is spare to create a network of pitstops for pollinators.

Led by Emma Clark from Stoke Gabriel Horticultural Society, the South Hams gardening group plan to bring gardeners together from the village and right along the Dart Valley. They were awarded a community grant from Life on the Edge and South Devon National Landscape from Sept 2024 to July 2025, allowing them to purchase seed and to reach out to other villages along the river.

We’ll be following and reporting back on their progress, and if your gardening group would like to know more about the Pocket Meadow Project, and get 33% off seed, head to Meadow in My Garden.
