New: Grow Your Own British Flowers with Toby’s Garden & Harvest Fest
We are delighted to announce our new flower farming demo’s at Toby’s Garden & Harvest Festival at Forde Abbey on 16th and 17th September with Grace Alexander Flowers.
Grace Alexander is a psychologist and Somerset flower farmer and describes herself as “committed to growing happiness, one packet of British flower seed at a time”. Grace grows the flowers she loves on a third of an acre field in a village in Somerset, a tiny greenhouse, and a lot of window sills, including peonies, David Austin roses and “more tulips than is strictly necessary!”. She grow blushes, apricots, creams and rust-coloured flowers, for oversized urns and jugs in a fine art meets wild meadow style. The flowers are for the people in her village, for farmers markets and for the best weddings around Somerset and the South West.
If you want to turn a corner of your garden into a haven for you and for the bees, to learn how to get the best out of cutting your home grown blooms, or to get all creative and hands on floral and build a hand tied a bouquet, Grace Alexander will show you how.
Grace says, “I’m counting the days till Toby’s Garden & Harvest Fest as it falls at the most delicious and opulent time of the whole British flower season and there’ll be buckets and buckets of dahlias, roses and late annuals for demonstrations and display.”
To spread the happiness out even further, Grace is launching a range of the best tried and tested cut flower seeds, beautifully packaged to be the perfect gift for the garden lover in your life, or just for you to have around.
A timetable of Grace’s demo’s will be on the website and on our social media nearer the event.
